[Cialug] gtk locale 

Got the boot problem fixed, now how do I fix the locale problem? /usr/bin/locale returns everything="POSIX"  I doubt that is not supported by gtk.  Or does it need to be en_US?  I'm running Slack 8, but this seems to be a gnome problem (1.4, BTW)
