Mandrake uses it to distribute ISO's. A lot of game companies use it to distribute patches and demos.


I tend to use the "btdownloadcurses.py" (part of the "bittorrent" rpm on Mandrake) for downloads. I just start a screen session, and let it go.

It's really pretty smart of these companies to use it - the "server" only runs the tracking data on what client has what chunk available. Most all of the bandwidth comes from the other clients.
